MGCC: Middle Georgia Camera Club

Charles Martin

MGCC Photographer Charles MartinAfter joining the Air Force I wanted a record of the different places I was visiting and the people I met so I bought one of the new Polaroid cameras that would produce a black and white image in 60 seconds. While stationed in England I bought an Argus 620 camera so I could take color photographs, and met Sylvia whom I married. I still have both the camera and Sylvia.

As the years passed I purchased several 35 mm cameras and even bought a medium format camera to shoot weddings. I joined the Middle Georgia Camera Club in 1979 and began entering photographs in club and local competitions and over the years have won several awards. For the last few years I have been learning how to restore photographs and become a better photographer using a digital camera. “Photography is a means of expression that works when words fail.”

Awards

I have won numerous awards in club contests and local fairs.
