1st Digital Cycle Results Tonight!

Be sure to join us tonight for our regular club meeting! We’ll be reviewing the images submitted to our first Digital Cycle of 2010 and hearing the judges’ feedback. There are many winners this cycle so be sure to come to pick up a ribbon should your image win!

MGCC Presented Award from Mâcon, France

Last Fall the Middle Georgia Camera Club was asked to participate in a photo exhibit held in Mâcon, France – one of Macon, GA’s sister cities. This week, a delegation of representatives from Mâcon came to participate in the annual Cherry Blossom Festival.

At City Hall on Saturday, March 20th, the French delegation presented our club with a trophy and a certificate thanking us for our participation. Club members Diane Flynn, Diana Sullivan, Alan Thiese, Janice Thiese, and William Haun accepted the award. Glenn Grossman from the Middle Georgia Art Association had also contributed images to the exhibit and was present.

Also present at the reception were 24 visitors from Ulyanovsk, our sister in Russia. The musical group Russian Soul performed several traditional Russian folk songs.

Jan 7th Meeting Canceled

The January 7th meeting of the Middle Georgia Camera Club is canceled due to the potential for inclement weather and icy roads. The program presenters live north of Atlanta and there is concern that it would not be safe to travel especially later in the evening. Concerns have also been expressed by some of our members.
