Camera club members who participate will be admitted to the festival at no charge. Check in at the volunteer booth at the entrance and state the club you are a member of and show your camera gear (after all, you get in free so that you can shoot!).

If you come at 10am on Saturday, Sept 17th you can meet other photographers and Association staff to receive a free meal ticket for day.

The show runs from August 19 – September 10, 2011. The opening reception to meet the artists and present awards is Friday, August 19 from 6 – 8 pm at their gallery in Macon. The gallery is open Tuesday – Friday, 12:00 noon until 5:00 pm and Saturday, 12:00 noon until 3:00 pm

SlowExposures is the nationally-recognized juried photography exhibition that underscores the diversity, contradictions and complexity of the rural American South. Now in our ninth year, we invite photographers to submit their work.

SlowExposures is held during the last two weekends in September. Located an hour from Atlanta’s Hartsfield Jackson airport in the rural countryside of west central Georgia, the show is renowned for its intimate, relaxed environment where photographers and photography lovers from across the county gather to learn, share, and have fun.

How to Enter

Each photographer may submit up to six (6) images electronically through the form link above. All work must be original to the artist and must have been photographed within the past four years. The fee of $50.00 must accompany the entry and may be paid through credit card or PayPal.

Deadline: Midnight, June 15, 2011.

Awards: $1,000 in cash awards, and first, second, and third place ribbons will be awarded on Friday, September 16. The jurors will also award honorable mention ribbons. A People’s Choice award will be presented the last day of the show.

Successful work will capture those qualities that unmistakably call to mind the rural South’s unique “sense of place.” Our jurors will choose up to 90 images in a blind jury process. Results will be announced electronically to everyone who has entered during the first week of August. Juried-in work must be printed, matted and framed for delivery to the show by the second week of September. The show will be open from September 16 to September 25 at the R.F. Strickland Center in Concord, Georgia.
